Hey, Minecrafters! I wanted to see if anyone could help me with this. I've been experiencing a funky graphical glitch in Minecraft that has been making the game pretty much unplayable. It does some really bizarre things to the environment, regardless of where I am. Sometimes it stops or starts again when I modify the environment. That includes opening and closing doors. I can make it go away by restarting the game, but inevitably it will occur again. This glitch hasn't always happened, but nothing changed when it started. I've played Minecraft on other computers and haven't had the same problem. I would like to be able to fix it. So far, I have force updated my Minecraft several times, reinstalled Java, and I just updated my video card drivers. None of those fixed the issue. If you'd like to know, my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO. Here is a screenie of the glitch in a jungle. If you have any ideas, please share them.
I have never seen anything quite like that. My initial reaction is that your video card is either going out/overheating/or perhaps it is underpowered due to too small of a power supply or a power supply that is failing. What make and model is your PC?
It is a cobbled-together monstrosity of whatever was handy and cheap, heheh. I'm not really sure it has a make and model. It's a bit old, as well, I think. The weird thing is that it runs more graphically-demanding games like Lord of the Rings Online on high graphics without a problem. If it were world holes, I'd understand, because that's just missing chunks and that's a RAM or processor issue, but a graphics glitch in Minecraft bewilders me.
I am having the same problem with the same graphics card (ATI Radeon 2400 HD PRO). Other far more graphically demanding games run great and other computers with lesser video cards (along with other resources) perform Minecraft better. It also seems to only be certain chunks that it happens to, as shown by my picture. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwpQR3PvxlryNmZzQzNIR2VKRHc/edit?usp=sharing
Wow, I have the same graphics card, and problem, it annoys me so much! I'm thinking its the graphics card, because my very bad computer, that is laggy and slow, (Because of my mom XD) plays minecraft alright.
Minecraft might not be able to work right with AIT Radeon HD 2400 Series.
I don't know, it bugs me too.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
