Hi all, I've joined this forum hoping someone can help, or at least tell me whats happened here. I'm fairly new to Minecraft.
Anyway, I built a very large tree (not to block limit but close) from the ground up for my friends and I to use when we played LAN and it's been fine and in use for about a month with no issues. Today I was digging out a cave at bedrock to use for total darkness PvP and mobs games as well as looking for diamonds and I came back up to find that almost all of the blocks that made up the tree had vanished! Not invisible, just gone! I'm pretty gutted as I worked on this thing for days and I know there is probably no way to get it back other than a rebuild.
I just want to know what went wrong and if there is any way to prevent this happening? Thanks in advance.
I've attached a before and after pic if that helps.
Before. This was when it was almost done, just had to fill the top out some more.
And this was what I was greeted with when I surfaced five minutes ago. About half of the top is still there but almost the entire trunk and internal structure is gone.
Uhm, You do realize "spores" tend to come of lava and hit nearby blocks, so from what i can see you lit your tree on fire. The easiest way to fix this would probably be worldedit or MCedit
The Lava was contained up on top, the "vanishing" affected the structure holding it. Like I said I've had that tree for about a month and never had a problem. I made sure the lava wasn't going to be an issue.
But that fix will still work regardless?
