Hello, Minecraft Forum! Here is some initial information to help you help me resolve my problem!
I am currently running Fedora 18 Beta (KDE spin) Linux with AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta driver.
I am using Oracle Java 7
[[email protected] Minecraft]$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_09"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.5-b02, mixed mode)
and a totally unmodified client, beyond updating lwjgl.
The initial output of the terminal when I start minecraft is (from Start>Play Singleplayer>Start World>Pause (Esc))
[[email protected] Minecraft]$ java -Xmx3G -Xms1G -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
asdf

My issue is that when I start Minecraft, I get nothing but a black screen. I can drag the window and the screen will update (usually by the time I realize I have to do this the main menu is already flashing). I can still click buttons and everything works normally, but the screen will only refresh when I drag the window (and I assume other window updates work, I wouldn't know what else to test).
It seems that (after a test just now) maximizing and minimizing the window fixes the issue until the window closes.
Might anyone have an idea as to how I could stop this from happening in the first place?
Sorry, I'm afraid that (probably) won't be possible. As far as I can tell (from the RPMFusion repos), there isn't a 12.10 build for F18.
EDIT:
I actually did manage to downgrade to Catalyst 12.10 (with 12.11's libraries, there aren't any 12.10 libs on RPMFusion). The issue is still there.
