- My game does not crash in offline single player, at all.
- Nobody else on the server I visit has issues with crashing in the Nether.
- My game will crash 90% of the time when I first enter the Nether, and a few times after that immediately when I rejoin the server.
- As of today, my game now also crashes randomly in the Nether at frustratingly short intervals (several minutes usually). It never did this before today, it only crashed when I first entered.
- My game does not crash anywhere else, only in the Nether, and only while playing on this server.
- I have not tested entering the Nether in other servers because I currently do not play on any other servers.
- The crashes started occurring after the upgrade to 1.4.4, and have continued in 1.4.5.
- The server is running bukkit, but I have no mods or textures or anything non-vanilla linked to my own Minecraft game.
- My video and other settings have not been changed at all since before the 1.4.4 update.
I need help, because this is draining all the enjoyment out of a lot of things I'm trying to do on this server, and I have absolutely no idea what might be causing it. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated, and please ask for clarification if you need more details on what's happening.
At least someone reply and tell me it's not fixable if that's the case. I'm in over my head here and now the crashes happen very frequently. This seriously hasn't happened to anyone else?
Have someone else enter the Nether before you for a few minutes and then you follow afterwards. It may be because the server is trying to load the chunks and is causing you to crash for some reason. Having the chunks loaded ahead of time may reduce your chances of crashing. Other than that there is nothing I can think of. Is the server running any plugins that may be causing issues?

I could try that and see if it helps, though I'm pretty sure it has crashed when others were already in the nether before. Thank you for the suggestion.
As for plugins, the server is running bukkit with a bunch of minor plugins that aren't especially game-changing. I don't know much about any of them so I can't really give you too many details. It doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else on the server though so I doubt it has to do with the server's plugins.
