I am getting very low FPS on Minecraft, when running GSL shaders mod. I want to record myself playing, and the FPS is dipping below 10 fps :/ which for me is unplayable.

You have a performance decreasing mod. Remove it, and then see how your FPS looks. Don't think that just because your computer can run MC, it can run MC mods. Also, recording reduces FPS by the nature of recording (you're writing to disc, caching graphics more often in memory, and you have another program running).

Thanks, would it help if I told you the stats of my PC? And also, yeah the FPS is fine without it, just would like to utilize more of my GPU, load is at like 50%

Yeah, post your specs here. There is a chance you could possibly through more of the stress onto your memory before it hits your processor (as Minecraft now has more memory than processing problems, unlike before). But if you're on Windows, then the only way I could think of how to do that easily would be running the executable JAR from a .bat file (which isn't that hard).

Yeah my specs are

RAM: Corsair Dominator [email protected] 1866MHZ DDR3 4x8gb (32gb total)
PSU: Cosair AX-850
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z77

Your computer should be tanking Minecraft, even with that on. Try doing the .jar version and tweaking the commandline args so that you can run it higher RAM than the default.

Thanks heaps, now running at 45FPS average with dipping to 15FPS :/ still not 60 but it's okay. If you've got any other ideas for higher fps please let me know!

This should be in modded client support. Anyways, 10 FPS is playable to me, are you like, actually freeze lagging or are you just going by the number of FPS?

I'd like to know how 10 fps is playable without losing sanity.
Dedicating 24 GB of RAM to MC yeah that worked :/ slightly.. lol
Woah...uhh...I'd find out what else is running on your computer, cuz if that's only "slightly" fixing it, then you have a lot of background processes chewing on your cpu.

I don't know, but whenever I reach 10 fps, Minecraft goes at it's normal speed. And yes, I agree with Odiefrom, how does 24GB of RAM only help a little? I have 4GB, and that kind of runs Minecraft smoothly. Background process is making you lag. I heard that Minecraft uses like, a couple million kilobytes.

Thanks for the agree, but that is a deceptive metric you're using there. A couple million kilobytes is just under 2GB, which is just above the minimum to run it at all. To see really good results it can take closer to 4GB dedicated to solely it (to be able to do anything at all).
