I haven't played Minecraft in a while but i decided i wanted to play, I clicked on the copy of minecraft that i had at the time (expecting to be a few updates behind) when nothing happened. Nothing happens whatsoever no matter what i do I clicked a few more times, then decided that i would download a new version
I downloaded the newest version of minecraft for windows and started it up as the minimal directions provided instruct. Nothing happened as well. I then deleted and started a few more times to no avail. This is very frustrating as i would very much like to play.
I have also launched a virus scan and my system stats are: i5 proccessor 2.4Ghz 4gs ram windows 7 intel HD integrated graphics (i know, kinda crappy but it was cheap)
At this point i'm willing to try almost anything.

Post the results back here.
It'll show if the problem is caused by something else.
