Hi, so I recently updated to 1.4.5, and went to play on my friend's 1.4.4 server. At first glance, everything worked fine, but soon I went to play an arcade-game thing where a dispenser fires a random object at you. It worked fine for ExP potions and arrows, but as soon as a fire charge got shot, Minecraft crashed.
Just shut down. No "Minecraft has crashed" message, no Windows prompt saying "Java Binary Platform has stopped working", nothing. It just canceled. I tried reinstalling, force-updating, etc.and I'm still having trouble, Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a reason why your friend hasn't installed 1.4.5 yet? There were a lot of changes made to 1.4.5 and I'm inclined to believe that the root of your problem is some incompatibility between the two versions.

Okay I was mistaken, there were only changes to the client side in 1.4.5 so a 1.4.4 server doesn't have to update.
Did you you look in the .minecraft folder to see if there is a crash report there? No java error report on your desktop? Without an error report it's hard to tell what might be going wrong.
Make sure you have 64 bit Java JRE if your OS is 64bit.

Yeah, .minecraft has all the usual stuff. Desktop's clean too. I may have the 32 bit version, could you direct me to some sort of tutorial on getting the 64 bit version, just in case?

If you have a 64 bit OS then I recommend that you try that. Make sure and uninstall all your other java installs before installing to make sure you have a clean environment. Trying to navigate Oracles download system confuses even me. Easier to just give you a download link.
Yes, this happens to me. I have no idea how to fix this, but when I'm on 1.4.7, and I join a 1.4.6, my game crashes when I see a fire charge. The same thing happens to me, I don't get a crash report, and it doesn't go inside my minecraft folder (I'm on a mac) and it doesn't seem to be anywhere. It just crashes with a java report, but I don't know how to read these java reports. Can you help me?
Same for me. However if a ghast or dispenser spawns it, I am sometimes fine. But other times my game crashes. I tried playing on a world that spawns them, then i went through and it has checkpoints. My check didn't get set for some reason, so when i flew back to where I was in creative mode, once the chunk that has those dispensers shooting them loaded, I crashed. I can't even spawn them with a command myself. It's real stupid how of that and I can't even go on Minecraft servers that have the plugin HolographicDisplays!
I am having the same issue and I am playing on 1.7.10 official release. Whenever a fire charge spawns from a dispenser my game(client) crashes, in the launcher screen it doesn't look as if it had a problem.
Also I have the problem that hexlazer205, I am unable to join a server with holographic displays.
