I have noticed for the past couple weeks that when riding rails with minecarts, the minecart looks glitchy as heck. It used to be completely smooth when riding, but now it looks horribly choppy and glitchy like character sprites flickering on and off in old NES games. Also, I have noticed that when gravel and sand falls, it has the same flickery effect as the minecart. To be honest, it's getting pretty annoying. I'm not sure if this started happening in 1.4.4 or 1.4.5.
I do not use mods, I have legit Minecraft, and I have tried switching every visual setting Minecraft has with no luck. I've also tried deleting all minecraft data on my computer and reinstalling, but that didn't work either. I'm using a 1920 x 1080 monitor and I've kept my drivers up to date on my Nvidia GTX 470.
Regarding the minecarts it appears that the positional smoothing got broken somehow. The only thing I think they changed was added the new sounds, but perhaps the new code added to play the sound is interfering somehow.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
