i am the mom and my sons computer had issues with another thing so i tryed to uninstall and re install that and it worked but minecraft wont reinstall now he is a paid premium member and i dont have avg its kaspersky
i turn it off updated java and tried everything i can and it just dont try to download i have windows 7 and loads of memory in is laptop as it used to work fine lastnight something corupted his techniclauncher av cant seem to find it i did a system restore and all that before i deleted minecraft as i couldnt find it in the control panels of programs any help would be apprecieated im not the greatest with computers but have been talked thru issues before,..
minecraft doesn't instll like orther programs, it just puts the files where it needs.
on the start menu type
%appdata%
into the search thingy (i'm so technical ;)) at the bottom and hit enter, a folder will appear, you should see .minecraft and .techniclauncher
open the minecraft one and locate the saves folder, and make a copy of it to the desktop (this is his saves) and then delete the .minecraft folder.
when minecraft is run it will remake the folder and download all the files, close minecraft and replace the saves folder.
that is a total reinstall of minecraft
the same can be done for technic although the saves folder are inside another folder, either technicssp (single player version) or tekkit (multiplayer) depending on what he's used.
