when i try running it on my laptop it comes up with this error:

I have java installed please help
First of all, I'm using Linux Mint to type this message to you. I can assure you that Minecraft works on Mint. You are probably using a generic driver for your card that supports acceleration to a limited extent.

Go to Menu > Preferences > Additional Drivers
Install the recommended driver and reboot.
