Off line, not a server. These are all single player problems.
Problem 1. Cant break blocks without tools
I started a new creative world and found a village and built walls, lights and added lots of villagers. Then i put myself in adventure mode. Now i cant break break blocks or even hit blocks without the right tools.
To break dirt or even hit it i need a shovel. Stone, i need a pick. wood or TREES, i need a hatchet.
Problem 2: Stuck at spawn point
Since 1.4 im always stuck at the spawn point. The character seems like its stuck and is bouncing. I can usually work my way out but it takes 20-30 seconds to do so.
Problem 3: World not rendering quick enough.
This is more a nuisance than anything. Ive had this problem since they introduced 1.3.1, i believe. Please note, i had a GDDR3 512MB graphics card, WAY over kill for minecraft. I just upgraded this week to a GDDR5 2048MB graphics card to play these newer games on the Ultra detail settings.
It seems the game is not rendering quick enough to keep up. I can get as close as 1 block from an unrendered patch. If i sit there it will eventually render but if i walk closer it will instantly render. It seems rendering is a TAD bit better with this new card but still annoying. If i switch over to FAST graphics, i almost never have the problem anymore.

You solved your own problem here You said you put yourself in adventure mode and that is what adventure mode does. You can't break anything only interact with them unless you have the correct tools. Just use the command "/gamemode 1" to return to creative mode.

I thought it was adventure by default. Huh, well i set it to 0 and it fixed that issue. Thanks so much. game mode 1 is creative.
2 more problems to go.
Also, when i turn smooth lighting off, rendering is extremely fast.
