When minecraft.exe is told to run, it does not, and instead generates the following error in the file "hs_err_pid[number].log

I would greatly appreciate it if someone would help me with this.

Your Java Runtime could be currupted, or you could have a faulty Minecraft launcher. Did you get it off the official site, or somewhere else (like Mediafire)?

I am encountering the same issue. I am using an official version of Minecraft. I have tried various things, such as reinstalling Java and whatnot but so far nothing has helped.
