Hullo. I just bought a new computer and Minecraft will not work on this new machine. When I create a new world, my character cannot walk(though he can look around) and the screen shakes, as if the charcter were bobbing up and down. The game still works fine on my older computer.

This is a common issue with 1.4 https://mojang.atlas.../browse/MC-2416
When you spawn your character is stuck in a block. To get out of that state look down and break the block underneath you.
