When I join my friends Minecraft server that he is hosting on his computer on newer versions on 1.4.2 and above I get intense lag when joining, respawning or changing the world, however if I join his Tekkit server (1.2.5) I get no lag what so ever.
Same if I join a Garry's mod server that he hosts, or a Team Speak server. It only ever effects when I join the 1.4.2 servers and above. So It can't be our internet connections, as other people are able to connect to his server. When running a speed test to him I get a ping of 132ish, (I live in the UK, he is in the US)
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this lag in the 1.4 updates?
Also, after about 2 minutes the lag stops and minecraft is completly playable.
Just those 2 mins everything i join.die or go to the nether/end/normal world stop me from enjoying multiplayer with my friends (I also dont get lag on dedicated servers that I have tried)
