My world was running perfectly until I started using redstone. I hooked up 2 stick pistons and went back to get more redstone, and when I came back I tried to place more redstone, but my stack of redstone completely disappeared. I closed the world and tried to reopen it to see if it would fix itself, but Minecraft crashed. I then reopened it and ran the world fine. When I got back in the world, the stack of redstone was still gone, so I just went back to my chest to get more. When I opened the chest, the redstone I "lost" was in there. I figured the game probably lagged out and nothing I did registered and that was what happened, so I tried again. I finished placing all the redstone and it crashed again. That's all I can really say to try and help the problem.
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; Exception in server tick loop

Just destroyed all the redstone (probably about 20 redstone) and it took about 4-5 minutes because of the intense lag. As soon as I got the rest of the redstone up, it started running like nothing happened. With that being said, redstone must be bugged. Is there anything I can do to be able to use it without this awful lag?
I have no absolutely no mods. This is the first time I've played Minecraft in about a month, so my minecraft.jar is completely new. I also tried restarting my computer but that didn't help at all.
What are the specs of your PC? What OS and Java do you have also? This sounds like a PC that is struggling to run minecraft to me. What you describe about items disappearing from your inventory and showing up back in chests is typical with lag where your client thinks you have the items, but the server never acknowledged it and then corrects your client that it really doesn't have them later.
It does kinda struggle to play Minecraft. It lags a bit when there's a good bit of stuff going on, but I've never had a problem like this. Usually the mechanics of the game runs fine, but it has a slight lag.
Yeah seems like those specs should be able to run minecraft fine. Make sure you have the 64 bit version of Java installed. If you have more than one version installed it could be that java is using the wrong one.
Thanks a lot! I had the 32 bit java installed so I uninstalled it and downloaded 64 bit. So far there haven't been any problems with placing redstone and everything is as normal as always. I still haven't turned on the redstone yet because I'm still tinkering with it, but so far it's fine. I can't believe it was something as simple as that.
Okay, try doing a clean install of minecraft by renaming the .minecraft install folder to something like .minecraft_old, then use the launcher to redownload the game files, move your worlds over to the new install and see if that helped at all.
I started downloading a texture pack and when I went to use it every time I went to check my inventory the screen covered in dirt and it crashed. here is the the crash report:

Any feedback would be great.
Do you run anything like Optifine or Forge?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
