When I go onto my Let's Play world in singleplayer, I am standing on a single chunk and it takes ten seconds for each chunk to load. While the chunks are loading and I break a block, it drops nothing and replaces itself when a chunk loads. I can't open chests, furnaces, or crafting tables when the chunks are loading. I have no difficulties in other worlds or in SMP. I am running a completely unmodded 1.4.5 client on the default texture pack. Please help!
So this issue is only in that one particular world? Sounds like some world corruption may be the cause. You might try using MCedit's region fixing tool to see if that helps.
