I'm having major difficulty in milking cows. I'm playing on a Mac, with version Minecraft version 1.4.5. I'm in Survival Mode.
I know there have been posts regarding this issue and even Youtube videos. I have read and watched them and I still need help.
I'm using an iron bucket. Right-clicking the cow doesn't work. Right-clicking the udders doesn't work. Digging a hole and trying to milk the cow from below doesn't work. Being above them doesn't work. Trying to milk my captive cows didn't work. Trying to milk wild cows didn't work.
I'm so frustrated!!! Is there any method I haven't tried yet? Is my game just broken? If so, how do I fix it?
Please help.
Thank you.
Yep. I'm carrying this empty bucket and right clicking on the cows.
All it does is hurts them.
I can't tell you how many innocent cows have died on behalf of my bucket.
I personally would try re-installing minecraft (after backing up your save of course) if you are going through the correct procedures to milk and they are still not working.

A modded looking for dedicated (at least consistent) texture artists/modelers to make magic with! Not literally magic...but...mods! PM me...

So because I'm stupid when it comes to computers, how exactly do I back up my save?

Haha go into your minecraft folder (where it is depends on what type of computer you are on...) and inside that folder in another folder called "Saves" ...Just pop that open. Find the save you want to save (or just select the whole saves folder) and copy paste it somewhere safe that won't be effected when you re-download minecraft. I typically have an extra saves folder chillin on my desktop that I overwrite every week or so when I get mods and what not.
Basically. Find the world folder in your minecraft/saves folder and copy paste it somewhere safe. Then your set.

I read the title, and I got too excited about it... If you're using a 2 button mouse, it should work fine. You should have been more specific with the title.
Yes backing up saves is a lot easier that one would think. I am not sure though if the game is corrupted though. It does not sound like it if that is the only problem with it. Who knows though, it might still be that and an easy fix.

I'll try it anyways and if it still doesn't work...well, then, I guess it's back to the drawing board.

Curse PremiumYou have an Empty Bucket, and you are right clicking on a cow, correct?
That's really all you should have to do, the cow should now be milked :P...

I bought a mouse. It doesn't work with it either.
Oh, wow, that actually sounds easy! Thank you.

Curse PremiumC:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
Change "YOUR NAME" to your name, obviously :P.
That's also assuming you are using a PC.
However, I wouldn't think that your Minecraft Installation is corrupt. Can you open doors with Right click, or place blocks?
