I'm having some trouble fixing this crashing problem. I've had it for a couple months, haven't really had the time to fix it. Anyway, what happens is I start up Minecraft, and the window pops up just fine, but when i go to hit the login button, it crashes. I'm kind of really ed, i just want to get back to my game!

I know its extremely long, but I'm hoping there's someone out there who knows where to look and what to do... so here is the error message if it helps:

I see you are running Java 7. Downgrade to Java 1.6.0_35 and see if you get the same crash and error.

To downgrade I must first uninstall my current versions of Java, and then go back and install the Java 1.6.0_35. Will My JDK (Java SE Developement Kit 7 Update 7) or JRE (Java(TM) Runtime Environment 6) need to be uninstalled as well. I need them for a class at school, so I don't really want to risk uninstalling those if I don't have to.

Also, when I go to the Java 6 download page, it shows only Version 6 Update 37. How do I get to Update 35

37 is fine to get. Some people have ok luck with Java 7, some don't. If you are having problems and the log shows Java 7, I would start to think there may be a problem with Java 7.

You should replace the JDK also if you downgrade. If you need the JDK for school I would pick school over downgrading.

Do you have any mods installed? And are you running it as an administrator?

Make sure no running/unused processes or using most of your CPU power.

Also try to free some RAM up by uninstalling some programs.

Do what has been said above try downgrading to Java 6.

Make sure your minecraft.exe is running on either "Microsoft Windows XP SP1" Or SP2 or SP3
