I just purchased Minecraft and I have yet to get it to work. I was constantly getting the bad video card drivers error message was I first tried running the launcher. I searched through this forum and multiple other sources, trying every possible solution I could find. I tried all the common fixes: updated all my drivers, reinstalled Java, deleted and redownloaded game folders and files, the fixes here: http://www.minecraft.../#entry19287123. Nothing worked.
My laptop shouldn't be a problem. Here's my results from using dxdiag:
I tried to copy the "Bad video card drivers" message to paste here so somebody can make sure my laptop can run the game. The other problem I ran into was that I got the "Java™ Platform SE Binary Has Stopped Working" error. I can't get a copy of my "Bad video card drivers" error message because this seond one gets in the way.
Your using the windows driver for your card. you need to actually get the drivers from the AMD site (Or Asus site if the amd tool tells you you have branded/proprietary drivers).
Use the tool here: http://support.amd.c...ob_win7-64.aspx
90% sure Asus doesn't use branded drivers so it should point you to the correct version of driver.
Yeah, you need to update the drivers. What happened when you ran the tool from the AMD site?
It's still using the windows default drivers for your video card, Microsoft doesn't include OpenGL support with those drivers because they want people to use dirextX instead of OpenGL.
If the tool from the AMD site isn't giving you drivers to download and install try the ASUS site, system manufacturer for your laptop. Look up the model number and find the graphics driver there.
I have the same problem, different specs. Anyone want to play hero and troubleshoot both at the same time? Apparently I'm not allowed to post images because I'm a new member, but here are the links to my DirectX screenshots.
