Basically my problem is that minecraft will not stop lagging and it's getting on my nerve's before the new 1.4.5 patch i could run full graphics settings with littile to no lag. I generally had 50 to 40 fps when running full graphics now at almost any graphic setting it runs at around 1 to 5 fps. Some of my specs are

Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: XPS L501X
BIOS: Ver 1.00 BIOS A08 PARTTBLb
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
It matters not the specs of your system. Minecraft could bring down the Nasa computers. Use the Optifine Mod. Another option would be to downgrade to 1.4.4.
