When I try logging in it just freezes and says Loading Update News.. with a gray screen can someone please help me.

Although i am generally a mac user, this is an error that happens to me sometimes. make sure you are connected to internet, or have semi-decent connection. minecraft gets the update news from minecraft.net, so maybe that is down. if nothing else works, try redownloading minecraft or using a program called MultiMC which does not show the update news. i hope this is helpful

I don't think its a connection problem because i have a full connection so I will go try MultiMC.

Ok I found out my problem with MultiMC, I have to run it as Administrator

Maybe that was your problem with Minecraft. Perhaps if you had told the launcher to run as administrator it would have worked. Glad you got it working.
