Okay, well, since the new update, I haven't been able to update/play minecraft. Whenever I try, I freeze on downloading packages. I've tried many solutions, like force update, re-install and even use the website. I've gotten rid of my computer protection too! Nothing seems to be working! My friend that also has windows 7 sent me the minecraft folder, and even that did not work.
When I update it on the website, I get this error; "Fatal error occured (4): Address family not supported by protocol family: connect"
I have no idea what to do, or even if this is the right section on the forums to post this. Please, if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.
If you've already done this, Then it doesn't matter, But have you gone into the program 'Run' > Type %appdata% > roaming > .minecraft > And deleted your 'Bin' Folder, Or even deleted the entire '.minecraft' folder already?
But please back-up everything within the folders if you are going to delete it.

you need to go to the program "view running processes" and look for a program called "relevant knowledge" (rlvknlg.exe) and end the process. then try and update your minecraft again.

In my processes in Task Manager, the only 3 tasks that start with an R, are; RAVCpl64.exe, realsched.exe*32, RegSrvc.exe. There is no Rlvknlg.exe!
