and when we download minecraft from minecraft.net, it says the application is damaged and can't be open, and gives options to close the dialog box or move the file to trash. i did install the newest java, but it still will not work. does anybody know what to do? thanks for any help you can give
EDIT: Using the .jar does not work either, it also says the file is corrupted
Hmm. I can't spot anything specific from that log but I would make sure her system is fully up to date (both OS X and Java). My main Mac still uses 10.6.8 (I have no reason to upgrade it to 10.8.1) so I don't know of it's a ML issue or not causing her problem or not. It looks to be a java error and not an OS error but it's been so many years since I've written java code I can't make much sense out of the backtrace.
It is because Mojang is too lazy to add a digital signature to the game. Disable gate keeper(I think that is what it is called) for a little bit and it should work. I don't know if this will solve it permanently.
