I recently updated to 1.4.5. Everything is working fine in the overworld, but when I entered the nether, minecraft immediately crashes. I kept opening that singleplayer but everytime I open the world, minecraft either closes or it stops and says Java Platform SE Binary has stopped working. I have tried installing java again and force updating my minecraft but nothing has worked.
I really hope someone can help me with this problem... I really don't want to lose all my progress on that singleplayer world.
P.s sometimes when it crashes, it leaves a text document on my desktop that is called hs_err_pid123 (the last three numbers vary) When I open the text document it is long, but at the beginning it says:

Ya, I've been having this problem too. It worked the first time when i went in and when i died and came back in, it kept on crashing. Please, someone in the forums post an answer on why it's doing this.
I am having this same issue. At one point, it stopped loading java apps all together so i reinstalled java. While this allowed java apps to work again (including minecraft and the server I run) the specific character still crashes after hearing the ghast noise. It posted this error report on my desktop:

If you think a sound is causing this maybe try updating your lwjgl and see if that helps. Don't update to the latest version of lwjgl, but the one prior to that. The latest one has some issues.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
