Okay so...One day, while making a road in a village that I created, one of my villagers dropped down in front of me and I accidentally hit them. At this point I had many many villagers and 4 iron golems that appeared around my villagers to protect them. After accidentally hitting one of the villagers, a golem comes after and i ran away. I ran far enough away that it stopped chasing me and I went back. I returned to making the road and all of a sudden I am attacked yet again so I ran away again. I went back yet again only to be chased away by two more golems and i died. After going to where I died to try and pick up all the things I dropped, I was continuously bombarded by attacking golems. Now all of the golems attack me whenever I get close enough to them. I have looked into this on the web, but haven't found the solution yet.
Here is what I have done:
- Restarted many times
- Force Update (regular updates as well)
- Trading with villagers (while in peaceful and being attacked)
- I traveled far away and came back
- And some other things that I can't quite remember...
Another thing...I have another village right next to this village, but the golems there don't attack me. So, I'm not sure if there is any way to remedy this other than killing them (I have killed one... only because I was trying to get my stuff and he was attacking and I hadn't thought to put it in peaceful at that time), but I have put many hours into these villages and don't wish to start over anytime soon. Yeah I can keep it in peaceful, but when there are five iron golems surrounding me and trying to flip me like a zombie, they get in the way and it is really annoying.
Anyway, this is long, but I wanted to be thorough. Please help me if you know how to fix this or where I can find information on this if there is any. Thank you!

Kill the ones attacking you and over time replace them by building more.

So... I killed all the golems in that village, but they came back after a while and started attacking me... they transfer their grudges? Also is there anyway to fix it? (Thank you webrosc and chickennuggster)

hello this also happened to me and I had to resolve to save my world and delete the folder. minecraft and force update so I did, and when I came on the screen to choose the name I put a different name.
