Starting earlier today one of my minecraft worlds (my main one) stopped working right.
There are giant world holes everywhere, there is a lot of lag, I can not open or use anything, mob ai is not working and when I dig a block, nothing comes out! Then for a couple minutes everything was working fine. But I restart my laptop and it happened again. Please help, I really do not want to loose this world!
Also: I am not using any mods
Try extracting the world from the saves folder, and redownload Minecraft. Than, go back into saves, and replace it again. If you need a video tut on this, feel free to look on up on YT, or I can explain it.
MCedit has a chunk error tool. Can't remember where but I'm sure you can google the info. It's very likely that it will delete the corrupt chunks and they will be regenerated. Any changes you've made to those chunks will be lost.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
So? Make a backup copy and then use MCedit to see how the fix goes, what have you got to lose?

Ok, Ill try that.
It didn't work, my progress was lost on those chunks, like you said.
He originally was helping people through a minecraft forums thread, but then migrated to his own site. dunno how active he still is.
