I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 and everytime I run minecraft and open a new world it crashes. I've re-installed it, cheched the box in permissions and I'm running minecraft on OpenJDK java 6. Please help.

is the problem. Although I don't know what that problem is. Maybe someone else knows.

Anyway, possible solution: update to java 7
