Hey, I have seen all over youtube that there is some kind of minecraft fix for windows 8, but I checked my graphics drivers and they r not the same as the ones I saw on youtube, not sure wat the computer is called but I do know its an hp which I understand can overheat, anyone have any ideas of something I can work with?
The only problem with windows 8 is that minecraft won't run. All you have to do is downgrade your video card driver to a version for windows xp. I am running windows 8 and after doing that, minecraft runs just fine.
AMD Phenom II 965
4GB DDR3 1333 ram
ATI Radeon 5830 Video card
Running latest drivers on all hardware.
Why would you install an XP Driver? Windows 7 and Vista drivers are more compatible with 8 then xp. But ati & nvidia both have windows 8 drivers so I don't see why anyone would do that.

You're going to have to give more information than that. You need to post the name of your display adapter/ graphics card.

You CANNOT install XP drivers on Windows 8. They are made using the old XPDM display model which Win 8 does not support. He will need to find Win7 drivers and run then in compatibility mode if native drivers are unavailable. Even then, OpenGL support is hit-or-miss in this situation.
