I have been searching the internet and these forums as well as trying all that I can.....but I just cannot get Minecraft to work in any browser or by download.

We have a very new computer. I've updated all the drivers and tried just about every version of Java that I can find....no luck. I've even tried a .bat file that I saw someone suggest....didn't work either.

I've tried both 32 bit and 64 bit java...alone, together. Older versions of Java....the newest version.

We used to be able to play in the browser but I *think* with the newest release, we no longer can.

Then when I download it to our machine, I get the "cannot create virtual machine" message.

I saw on another post that my dxdiag log is helpful....so I'm including it below.

Hopefully, someone will see something that I am not.

Well there is a problem with the java install.

So first off, head in to the control panel, and use remove programs, to get rid of any and all java installs you see listed there.

I've had issues using the online java installer, so recommend using the offline installer. You should use 64 bit java if you have a 64 bit system.

In my searching all the threads, I just stumbled upon something that did the trick. I found a thread that said to delete the .minecraft folder in the roaming directory. So I gave it a shot and low & behold, it works! Both the browser and the download version work.
