Technically the client isn't vanilla, as it was backed up to Alpha 1.2.6 with MCNostalgia, but I don't think that is what is causing the issue.
Basically, I've been wanting to play the old map Escapecraft as it would have been when it came out. I had an Alpha 1.2.6 (server version 0.2.8, but it matches) server saved, and I used MCNostalgia to back up my client version. All so good so far, it works fine.
However, the only version of Escapecraft I could download was in the later MCRegion file format, as opposed to the Alpha format. After looking for some time for a good way to transfer the map, I downloaded MCEdit Stable 9 (0.1.1 to 0.1.5 weren't loading the alpha world) and saved Escapecraft (at least, the actual map part, not the terrain) as a schematic. I then loaded the Alpha world and pasted in Escapecraft.
Server loads fine, but when the client connects it works for a second max before cutting out to the following error:

So, I guess what I'm asking here is:
A. Has anyone had issues similar to this in the past? If so, how were they resolved?
B. Does anyone have a vanilla version of an Alpha 1.2.6 so that I may send them my modified map and see if it's a problem with MCNostalgia?
C. Does anyone have an original Escapecraft download from before it was updated into MCRegion format?
NOTE: I've checked the release dates and Escapecraft came well before the 1.2.6 update. It was updated since then, but after looking through the map I see nothing that was present in Beta 1.3 (in which the map works) and absent in Alpha 1.2.6.
Developed the puzzle branch for the map Diversity 2, and recently released a puzzle map called The Present Factory. I later put the guts in a map called "Valley of the Kings", which I'm too lazy to link.
