So recently I have had trouble finding my minecraft folder because it is hidden. I found a quick and easy way to get it back.

open the minecraft launcher

go to the options button above login

there will be a file directory above the force update

open finder and do command: SHIFT COMAND G

type in the file directory found in the minecraft lancher word for word than click go

you should have the minecraft folder visible now
