Ever since I updated to 1.4.2 my sound has been replaced with horrible static. I thought that the issue would be fixed in the 1.4.4 update but the problem is still there. I've tried redownloading minecraft and replacing lwjgl but nothing seems to make any difference. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem? I am running mac os 10.5.8 on a 1.8GHz dual core ppc G5

The problem I conclude is not your CPU, but your sound card driver has possibly been damaged, or just needs to be updated, hence the fact that after some updates through minecraft, the sound overflow is a needy update, but I'm not a mac expert. so go with possibly updating your sound card driver, or locating a CPU guy near you for assistance.
