Does anyone know when minecraft started to require the accelerated opengl?
I want to be able to play, and I used to be able to play, I had an illegal copy of it a few years back, but finally decided to buy it after not touching my illegal after a while. When the game started up, it told me that I could not play because I don't have accelerated opengl.

Does anyone know what version I should get in order to be able to play? Like, when was the last version before accelerated opengl was required?

I bought the game, so I do not think there should be any legal issues with me downloading an old version and playing it.

The thing is... I can't get into the game at all, after I log in, and before I get to the options menu, it tells me it cannot start because accelerated opengl is not enabled

How do you upgrade a graphics card on a laptop?

I have updated it, but Intel Family Chipset does not support accelerated opengl. Unless you have another idea? My chip is completely up to date, and so is my java.
