Hey, I bought Minecraft yesterday and after downloading it, the .exe wouldn't open at all.
I've allowed it in MSE and MalwareBytes, uninstalled Java (32 bit and 64,) then reinstalled one by one. No results. Tried updating my video drivers (which I actually needed to do, but) no luck.
I'm running 64 Bit Windows 7. I've tried opening that .bat file that logs Minecraft errors, but it opens when I use that (although I can't access any servers.)
It sounds like MSE or malware is still blocking the default launcher. Using an alt launcher may be a work around, until you can find were or what is blocking the default launcher.
(I don't even have the default launcher on my computer, because I like the features of MultiMC so much)

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded it, and when I tried to open it, I got this error:
Is there a 64 bit version somewhere on there or something?
Sounds like some how the download got corrupted by something. Go to my computer from the start menu type in %appdata% then delete .minecraft folder (If you have saves go into .minecraft right click saves copy or cut them to your desktop) then click minecraft.exe this will redownload the files and start new. Once everything is loaded copy or cut the save file back into .minecraft.

I've tried that too and it didn't work. Past the original ~270 KB file, nothing happened. Didn't open, didn't downloading anything, didn't update anything, etc.

I downloaded it again and it works. Thanks!
