wMy cousin and I both play minecraft alot and when we hang out we play together with the LAN connection. When ever he tries to join my game it doesnt work even though we both use completely clean mincraft copies and when I join his game it works fine. Any ideas?
I am opening because it show up on my cousin's list and when he clicks the server it just keeps trying to connect but after awhile it says connection fail.
It could be a firewall on your computer, or it could just be because MC currently does a poor job picking the correct interface to use for LAN games. Some fixes are coming...
Thanks maybe thats the problem I just was wondering cause when I try to connect to my cousin's game it works perfect for whatever reason thanks again, gerbil.
Computers that tend to have trouble: Macs (MC tries to use a loopback interface), PCs with VPN software, VMware, virtualbox, hamatchi, multiple network interfaces....
If you understand your network configuration, then you should be able to tell by the IP address being used whether it is a 'good' or 'bad' address. If the address is good, then it's probably a firewall issue.
