I have noticed an extremely unbearable intermittent lag that began around 1.3. When I am not moving (which is practically all the time), the framerate drops by 20 FPS or sometimes down to 20-30 FPS; the game also freezes when the framerate drops. Without mods, I easily get about 90 FPS. I do not mind playing with only 30 FPS, but this freezing is unbearable. Here is some basic information:
Tested Versions: 1.3-1.4.2 CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4GHz, single core GPU: Radeon HD 6670 1GB RAM: 1.5GB OSs: Ubuntu 12.04, Windows 7, Windows 8 Other: I always play on tiny rendering. I have tried Optifine but that does not help (in fact, it seems to lower my framerate, something that is also a recent occurence). I have tried changing the autosave setting to 30 minutes. I have not had this problem even with worse hardware.
If anyone knows of a remedy or even knows what is causing this damned problem, your help is appreciated.
