Torches missing flames? [1.4.4 pre]

Is it just my computer (which is not the best compter by a long shot), or are torches missing the flame? Al I see is a stick with orange/white/red dots on the end.

Your particles are probably set at Minimal. You can change it in video settings.

I know there's a bug where sometimes the flames start flickering around areas near the torch; I turned my particles to Minimal for that reason.
