Whenever I play Minecraft on max performance settings a vague screeching noise that is very annoying plays through my headphones. Changing it down to balanced or power saver gets rid of it, but then of course I have garbage performance. This also happens on another game I play that I play on max performance on called League of Legends. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Sorry to rebring this topic up, but I do believe the problem is because the graphics card is simply pumping too much FPS. I believe this is the problem because it does happen in other graphics intensive games I play. I solve it by enabling v-sync which limits me to 60 fps. However I dislike this because then my FPS does every so often drop below 60 and the lag is noticeable. With this new information does anyone know away to fix it but maybe make v-sync give me slightly higher fps? Sort of like custom video performance settings.

If your system could maintain the 60fps it would. If it lags lower than that at times then it's because you have a bottleneck somewhere reducing your performance, and when talking minecraft the bottleneck could be software based in the client itself and not an issue with your PC's hardware necessarily.
As for the whine. What kind of system do you have? Is this a laptop or a desktop? My guess would be this is being caused by high power usage of your GPU causing the PSU to work hard and perhaps creating electrical feedback into your audio channels.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
