Hi. I don't know if this is the right area to post this, but i couldn't find it anywhere else. I'm running minecraft at anywhere between 5 and 15 FPS, and I've tried many ways to increase my FPS but nothing has worked. Ive tried setting the priority higher, I have also heard if you set the affinity to 1 core instead of all of them it runs smoother and nothing worked. I know i can run it smoother because i can run Skyrim on lower settings at a decent frame rate. I should also mention I'm on a laptop, and i have set all settings to maximize FPS in Minecraft. Please help. Thank you.
I've heard of optifine but was a little skeptical. Does it really work? And no my laptop is only like 6-8 months old. And when i bought it, it wasn't a budget laptop. It's an i7 at 2.2 GHz with a dedicated graphics card.

I know a desktop is better for gaming but I'm in college and have no money, so not an option. I downloaded optifine and it helped a little. but it seems like when i look down it drops to like 12 FPS but usually around 25ish. It drops quite frequently so it's still tough to play. I was just playing Skyrim and granted i have it set at low quality, it still ran at 30 FPS and stayed there. Now i know there's alot in minecraft to load and stuff, but i find it hard to believe Minecraft takes more power then Skyrim. If I'm wrong, please let me know, but if not, any more ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know this was buried but i just remembered about it today. Thanks.
