Ever since Java 7 came out I have been getting a very excessive and extreme amount of screen tearing. Normally vertical sync would fix this but when enabled by various different means (including forcing it through my graphics card itself) it has done nothing. My second thought was that this all started happening after I updated Java so perhaps re-installing Java would fix my problem but alas this was to no avail. I then checked to see if all my drivers were up to date and they were. I asked around and some people told me I may have to allocate more memory to minecraft but yet again to no success my screen continued to tear itself apart. I even tried updating lwjgl because I heard that could fix some problems related to this and even that did not work. I am at my wits end on things to do to fix this problem and even google has abandoned me in this time of crisis, I ask of you strong and valiant people to reach out and try to solve my problems. I wish to roam minecraft with clear vision.
Here are a few screenshots of what my screen looks like (it flashes between these very quickly).
I would suggest making sure the AA/AF settings for your graphics card are set to off or use application settings.
Both are and both always have been set to use application settings. Generally I don't feel the need to force any settings through my graphics card except for when I tried to force vertical sync.
i am also having some wierd problems, this morning i updated java and my minecraft has been flashing white on the screen while playing and the singleplayer/ multiplayer screen, but here is the thing down in the lower left corner there are flashes of pictures of me walking around (i could remember that i was at that location). is this just VERY bad lag or even a sign of someone hacking?
I think you need to set it to only be used when the application specifies it. If that's what you meant, my apologies.
Your Java version probably won't do anything, as long as it's not ANCIENT. Try turning off AA/AF in your graphics card's control panel. If that doesn't work, try upgrading your graphics drivers FROM YOUR MANUFACTURER'S website.
By manufacturer do you mean AMD/ATI or the company the actually made the graphics card (sapphire in my case)? If you mean to install it from AMD's website then I have done that, if you mean from Sapphire's then I shall try that.
