Okay, so I wanted to play multiplayer with my brother. We both bought the game, so it's not a pirated version. I went to Minecraft's website, selected "Download", and downloaded the "Minecraft server exe." the so called "easy" way of setting up a server. All you have to do is download and run it. It worked for me. However my brother, who plays on a mac, can't get into my server, with the error: "Can't reach server". He used the exact same IP address that I have/used to set up the server.
Please, any help please? He bought it specifically so that we could play together.
Same local network? Does that mean using the same Modem? (Sorry, I'm not computer savvy.) Me and my brother are playing in the same house. In all honesty, I don't know what I'm using. How can I find out?
Go find a tutorial on youtube for port fowarding there was the problem for me
You know, that's probably why. The only problem now has to do with the part where I add the Minecraft thing to my server. I have Verizon, and when I hit apply it says: "Please wait while we update your settings" with an hourglass next to it. Sits like that for about an hour, and I cancelled it and tried again. This problem keeps persisting and it's becoming very frustrating.
