Hello! I am having an issue with my program freezing up. When playing, every 10 or 15 minutes my game will freeze. It will freeze for 15 seconds or so, but the game still continues while any input does not work (most of the time). My display will freeze frame, but it will often result in me getting killed. I can't play hardcore because I've lost at least a dozen well progressed hardcore worlds because this error will occur and a zombie or slime that I was killing will kill me.
The weird thing is, I can't figure out exactly how it behaves. Sometimes, I am able to press escape quickly and it will pause my game so I can just pick it back up once input starts working again. Other times, I can continue mining or swinging my sword throughout the freeze. And sometimes, I would say most of the time, it just doesn't allow me to do anything while the game continues to process (I fall while the display is frozen, mobs continue to attack, etc).
I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite, I have 8gb of ram, a good processor, and a 1gb video card. So while it's definitely not a gaming computer, it has plenty of power to run Minecraft. I have tried adjusting all of my video settings to the lowest possible and it doesn't make a difference. I have tried to install mods and such, however I have since deleted them and this is the fully stock version of the game (1.4). Maybe there is a file hiding somewhere that is messing things up, or something that needs to be re installed? I tried installing Optifine and it did not affect anything, so I got rid of it.
I tried searching for another post that had this same error, but I couldn't come up with anything that was quite the same. Maybe someone worded it differently and there actually is a post solving my problem. If so, I'm sorry for posting unnecessarily. I would love any advice/help! Thank you very much ahead of time!
Well this doesn't sound like a minecraft issue. It sounds like something is going on in your computer periodically. For instance, an antivirus program or something that is set to do something at a set amount of time. I would recommend booting up task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and record when this input thing happens. It's either a program on your computer, or something is wrong with your input devices. Try using other peripherals besides the mouse you used and see if that does anything. Try using a different mouse. But since I'm not there to see the problem myself, there's not much i can do.
