I could run other minecraft updates just fine, getting from 15-30 fps. I dont play to often but me and a friend wanted to play so i re-downloaded minecraft, and i can not even get past the main selection screen. It says it takes up 100% of my "CPU ussage" when i open task manager. How can i go from running it fine to it stalling out my computer in a patch or 2? were there major system recruitment updates i did not hear about? Given my computer is far below average but it should not drop in performance so much. Any help?

Based on the information you gave me, you need to allocate more RAM, update your memory card, and finally, update your video card drivers. (Updating video card also improves performance too)
