I've been fighting a battle with lag since updating from 1.2.5 to 1.3.2, and right now, the lag's winning. (BTW, my current version is 1.4.2) I've done a little research and work. Tried messing with Optifine. No difference. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my graphics cards or computer specs, because 1.2.5 ran flawlessly. But upon updating to 1.3 or one of the versions in that time frame, Mojang combined SSP and SMP. This has caused problems for many after that update, including myself. I'm having all sorts of multiplayer-type lags and bugs in single player. Slime collision boxes are messed up. I eat more food even though I stop holding right mouse button. Mobs are sinking into the floor, and always have very choppy movement, especially when jumping-this is most noticeable on giant slimes. Creepers will explode and do damage at abnormally long ranges. Spiders are impossible to fight without taking damage. (Sounds unrelated but that never happened on 1.2.5-they're hitting through my hits-sort of like playing and FPS game, and you knife before someone else and you're the one who dies) Finally, out of all the bugs that come to mind in an instant, (There's a lot more obviously related bugs-I just find these more significant) mobs will always lag for a second when hit, in fact, that's probably my problem with spiders. And zombie pigmen, now that I think about it...
Ok, now that that's all out of the way-is there any way to fix or treat this? I've tried the whole 'Allocate more memory and install optifine and turn all your settings down the worst or more stupid unrelated tips...' method. It doesn't work. I apologize for the little rant but I have to clear that up somehow Thanks for reading my wall of text, any ideas though?
Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/
Well thanks for the reply but I guess I'll just have this problem till an update fixes it or it retrogresses to being impossible to play. I have a multi-core processor, in fact like 4 or 5 cores...I stopped with the allocate memory thing because it had no effect anyways and I need memory for more important things, so that's out of the way. And though I know that fix for the eating glitch, I was hoping somebody would have a fix for all/most of the problems I'm having in general, and I think that the eating glitch is under that category. But suddenly I wonder if taking it down to having Minecraft only use two or three cores;I've had to change games like that before because some just took themselves out when I gave them multiple cores.
Once again, thanks for the reply.
