My friend wanted me to play on a mod-pack with him, called DNS-tech or something like that. Either way. I am the administrator of my own public server... I'm fairly good with computers aswell as Java problems so i figured uninstalling and reinstalling minecraft should not be an issue.... WRONG.
After playing on this DNS pack that he used for an hour or so, I simply removed MineCraft again and re-installed vanilla minecraft. Trying to log back into my server i get this error.
"Internal exception: java.io.IOException: Bad packet id 72"
I've googled it a few times, no luck.
I uninstalled Minecraft again, and re-installed it to see no luck... after that I removed Minecraft, aswell as java.
I reinstalled Java, then minecraft again. Aswell as replaced my Launcher.exe...
Voila! I connected to my server... So i Disconnected to go and get some pizza from papa-johns....
Oh goody... Bad packet id 72....
Client has no modifications.
I've deleted .minecraft in appdata numerous times aswell as force updated.
Based on the information you gave me, you need 32 bit Java for your 64 bit computer, and also you need to right click on time display -> adjust date and time -> internet time tab -> change settings -> synchronize with an internet time server -> select time.windows.com -> Restart computer.
