i have two computers on a lan (2x win7 64). We play with the latest minecraft client (same versions).
We can only play on the LAN if i turn off the windows firewall. Iread somewhere to buld a rule inbound/outbound.
I created an in- and an outbound rule,
- any protocol
- port 0-65535
Still no luck... Turning off the firewall results in all problems disolving....But this not really an option.
Has anyonye of you ever dealt with this and how did u solve it???
At least you got the LAN thing to work. I'm still having issues with OS X-to-Windows LAN gaming with my brother (he's on Windows). Our two computers just can't see each other even though we're on the same LAN.
Solved: the firewall had blocked java (2 entries). Unblocked them en and everything works now!
@Coffeecone... i don't think its possible to play between MAC and PC.. Not sure though
Sorry for posting on this quite old post but the latest Minecraft 1.4.5 update fixed the connection issues between our units. Just thought I'd put it out here.
