When I travel around the world by any method, I outpace the speed at which Minecraft loads the horizon. When I go around mobs will load, but not static blocks. So I will often see "floating" mobs or dark mobs (that are underground).
It makes it very difficult to travel when you aren't sure what is in front of you. It is inconsistent with when the chunks decide to load; sometimes I have to be on the edge of it, sometimes it's 20 blocks away. However the problem is consistent and is quite a nuisance.
It also appears to be a surface only issue as I never have the problem underground. Now part of that could be because I never go far enough fast enough underground to make it have to load anything, however even when I'm above ground the underworld loads and I can see caves, lava and other underworld things through the holes of unloaded areas on the surface.
Any help would be appreciated.
Note: At the time it happens I have roughly 52% Allocated Memory and rougly 300-400 (+ or - 30) of 900MB used according to the Minecraft in-game data. The MultiplayerChunkCache is always at 441 (not sure if it's important, but I noticed it.)
Never used to happen when I played ages ago. Just reinstalled Minecraft for the first time in about 6 months.
First experienced it in Multiplayer, thought it was just the server not being able to upload the map fast enough. Then I switched to single player when I read this post and the same thing was still happening.
I'm running an i5-750 (2.66 Ghz Quadcore), GTX560 Super Overclock, 4 GB of DDR1333 RAM, and Windows 7 64-bit. I used to run the game, and a server, with up to 5 other people connected simultaneously, with no issue.
Go into your video settings and cycle through your Render distance, Performance setting, or even change your FOV. Even if you go back to your original setting, it seems to instantly fix the problem. It may come back after a while but as a temporary fix it works well enough for you to get on with your game.

Also this is all in my Singeplayer world.
