Are you using the launcher from minecraft.net (downloaded version).
It will use 64 bit java by default if it's (64 bit java) installed.
You also need to have a 64 bit OS to use 64 bit java.
Access denied would imply that minecraft/java aren't able to write to that file.
Are logging into the computer on an admin account? (run as admin if your not)
Is your computer Win Vista? (Vista can be picky about protection in the roaming folder)
It may also be an AntiVirus stopping access to that file.
The minecraft.jar, would be in the bin folder. \.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
If you don't have your computer set to show known file extensions it will just be \.minecraft\bin\minecraft
I am not running windows vista and as I said before the file is not there or anywhere that I can see I believe that a fire wall is blocking it because I have heavy protection from past experience so how can I let my self see the file so I can update it and make it 64 bit java because I know that it is not 64 bit by the render distance bar. (I am running windows 7)
Like I said in the first post. If you have 64 bit java installed on your computer, the minecraft launcher will use it by default. You can download 64 bit java from here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
If your launcher is very old you may want to delete it, and download a new one from http://minecraft.net/download
You are able to find the .minecraft folder?
Is there a bin folder inside that folder?
What files are in the bin folder?
