I am very new to Ubuntu and I am trying to downgrade to 1.3.2. I know how to do it on windows but it it different on Ubuntu and so far I cannot figure it out. I also couldn't find any tutorials or instructions using the google, so I figured I would ask here.
You have 3 options, Use a downgrading program, Use a backup save of 1.3.2 (I assume you don't have one), Or you can download a minecraft.jar from 1.3.2 (Downloading the minecraft.jar can be considered piracy).
If you used options 2 or 3 you need to go into the .minecraft folder and replace minecraft.jar with the backup/downloaded .jar file.
Well the biggest problem with me not knowing how to do this is that I can't seem to find the .minecraft folder at all...
I tried using MCNostalgia. I got the .exe version to run using wine and when I selected 1.3.2 to downgrade it said "You don't seem to have all the files you need in your Minecraft bin folder. Please delete your bin folder, run the launcher and login." Once again there is the problem with me not being able to find my minecraft bin folder :I
I also tried to run it with Python but I could only display what looked like the coding for it, not actually run it. Do I need to have Python downloaded separately or is it part of the MCNostalgia download? I see some files with the Python in their title that were downloaded with MCNostalgia but I honestly have no clue if that is what I need...
Ok so once I located the .minecraft folder I just replaced the 1.4.2 minecraft.jar with the 1.3.2 one that I got from a friend. I just didn't know about hidden files so thanks for helping me find the .minecraft folder
