After I click the icon on my desktop that appeared after I ran the "download", put in my user name and password and click to log in, the loading bar will finish, say "done loading", and then crash. This started happening last night.
I am not sure which support forum to post this in, so I post here first. I don't know how to read the crash report, but here it is:
#
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x5247b4c7, pid=3876, tid=2960
The graphics card itself just quit powering the monitor (the RCA port to the TV still works) so I will guess that whatever was causing Minecraft to quit working led to that. I will have to order a PCI card, and see if that fixes it. Thank you for identifying the probable source.

Moderatorthat would point at your graphics drivers crashing java, so worth checking if they need updating, goto http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx for drivers
your also running java 1.6, 1.7 is available http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Upgraded, no improvement
